Es ist eigentlich noch viel schlimmer, wenn ich im SonyElBlog lese, dass es wohl um die EU-Richtlinien 76/769/EEC und 94/27/EC geht. Die waren nämlich schon in Kraft getreten, bevor die gute alte Dynax 9 das Licht der Welt erblickte.
Das ist einfach nur noch peinlich, lieber Weltkonzern Sony.
Vom vielen Kopfschütteln über diese Firma habe ich jetzt schon ein Schleudertrauma.

Meanwhile a little research over at Dyxum and Minolta-Forum revealed, that the problem does not seem to be related to the RoHS directive 2002/95/EG (as some magazine articles suggested), but rather a conflict with the much older EU directives 76/769/EEC und 94/27/EC (also known as “Nickel directive”).

However, several film bodies produced long after 1994/1996 still came with fully functional grip sensors (Dynax 9, Dynax 7, Dynax 5).

In either case, there are lots of alternatives to nickel plating and I hope they will be used in the coming “A900″, instead of removing the feature at all…
