Vollmondnacht
Angeregt durch aidualks Aufnahmen aus Polarnächten stelle ich eine sommerliche Aufnahme des letzten Jahres aus Asturien (Nordspanien) vor, die ich bei einem englischsprachigen Wettbewerb eingereicht habe:
![]() → Bild in der Galerie This mage is an example of night photography and light painting. It demonstrates my motto ‘light is paint, night is canvas’. Plaia de Ballota with incoming tide is illuminated by a triad of starlight, moonlight and powerful LED-torches. This picture was planned in advance considering tide-calendar and ephemeris. I needed a stable tripod, cable release and head lamp. My wide angle zoom was set to 30 mm and I framed the beach properly – the horizon at thirds. This would show some stars in the sky, the area with the breakers between the isle and the beach and the rocks in the foreground. The camera was set to the lowest native ISO, here 200, to minimise noise during the exposure, longtime noise reduction switched on (dark frame). I set the camera to ‘manual’ mode, exposure time to ‘bulb’, aperture to f10 to give a good field of depth when manually focussed to the hyperfocal distance. The effects I wanted to see in the picture were star trails, a smooth, fluffy sea and highlighted rocks with green algae in the foreground. This required an exposure time of at least six to seven minutes as I knew. The resulting picture was shot in RAW and needed only minor modifications in Lightroom. mfg / jolini
