Da werden die Nachrichten immer schlechter. In einem Teil der betroffenen Anlage kann zwar Ende Mai die Produktion wieder aufgenommen werden, aber in einem anderen Teil gab es offenbar größere Beschädigungen und man ist noch dabei den Schaden zu inspizieren.

However, after conducting an assessment, there appears to be no damage to the lower layer clean rooms. Finanziell wird das spürbare Auswirkungen haben. Das betrifft mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit auch die Imaging-Sparte. Die Versicherung gegen Erdbebenschäden reicht evtl. auch nicht aus.

"there is a possibility that large opportunity losses will be incurred, mainly in the Devices and Imaging Products & Solutions segments due to suspension of production for a certain period of time."

"Although Sony does have earthquake insurance that covers such things as direct physical damage and opportunity losses from lost sales, the maximum amount of compensation after our deductible is 20 billion yen, and there is a possibility that this amount will not cover the full amount of losses from the earthquakes.

Ich fürchte die Umsätze werden im Imaging-Bereich spürbar zurückgehen. Da gab es eine deutliche Ansage bei der Vorstellung des Quartalberichts. Und als Kunde sollte man sich bei einigen Produkten auf längere Lieferzeiten einstellen.
