Sony zeigt 3-Zoll-Display mit LED-Hintergrundbeleuchtung
Auflösung von 921.000 Bildpunkten

Sony hat ein LCD-Modul mit 3 Zoll Diagonale vorgestellt, das mit LEDs beleuchtet wird. Das ACX396AKS könnte künftig als Kameradisplay eingesetzt werden.
Das ACX396AKS soll besonders satte Schwarztöne darstellen. Bei herkömmlichen LCD-Modulen befindet sich zwischen dem Schutzglas und dem eigentlichen LCD eine Luftschicht. Dadurch entstehen störende Reflexionen. Sony spart die Luftschicht aus und bringt das Schutzglas direkt auf dem LCD auf und nennt die Technik "Window-On".

Das Panel erreicht eine Punktdichte von 271 Punkten pro Inch und eine Gesamtauflösung von 921.000 Bildpunkten (Subpixel). Nach herkömmlicher Zählweise sind das 307.000 RGB-Pixel. Das Display bietet Einblickwinkel von 160 Grad in beide Hauptrichtungen. Außerdem kann es den gesamten sRGB-Farbraum darstellen. Das Kontrastverhältnis beziffert Sony mit 800:1.

Wann die ersten Kameras mit dem hochauflösenden 3-Zoll-Display von Sony auf den Markt kommen, verriet der Hersteller nicht. (ad)

Das erinnert stark an das "Clear View II"-LCD der Canon 7D und 1D IV. Dort heißt es zwar nicht "Window-On", funktioniert aber nach demselben Prinzip und soll ebenfalls für bessere Schwarzwerte sorgen. Auch der Blickwinkel ist mit 160° identisch.

With older LCD designs, light reflections on and in the LCD monitor hindered visibility. Previously, these surfaces had anti-glare coatings to reduce reflections.With the EOS-1D Mark IV, instead of just reducing reflections, the idea was to eliminate the cause altogether. The space between the protective cover and liquid crystal panel is filled with an optical elastic resin material that has a carefully matched refractive index. The filling creates a borderless structure. Light reflections inside the LCD monitor have thereby been drastically reduced.As a result, the blacks look crisp and the display has high contrast. Also, menus and displayed images can be viewed closer to the protective cover’s top surface.

Wer weiß, vielleicht steht auf der Rückseite des Displays ja Sony.

Beim Sony Display wird darauf wohl verzichtet den Zwischenraum aufzufuellen und das Schutzglas direkt auf das LCD Panel aufgebracht, window-on .

hmm, intressante Sache.

Da stellt sich die Frage, ob dann die neue a7xx ein Klappdisplay bekommen wird...160° Blickwinkel ist schon ordentlich. Naja zur PMA wissen wir hoffentlich mehr, bis (mindestens) dahin ist sowieso Makrowinterpause.

Laut Abbildung ist etwas zwischen Schutzscheibe und LCD, also kann die Scheibe eigentlich nicht direkt auf dem LCD sitzen.
