Zitat:
The Sony FE 85mm F1.4 GM is one of the best portrait lens available on the market
It has all possible refinement you could expect from a portrait lens :
- very large aperture F1.4
- Fantastic sharpness even wide open, very consistent from centre to corners
- Superb bokeh and blurry background
- Very precise AF at F1.4 with eye AF on the Sony A9
- If you assign the Eye to the custom button on the lens barrel, you got perfect ergonomics for portrait
- Easy to manual focus
- Very low distorsion and lens fall off, very low CA wide open
- An aperture ring on the barrel that can be clickless for video
- Very solid construction
However not everything is perfect:
- The AF is fast but not as fast as the Zeiss Batis 85mm F1.8 : the weight of the 11 lenses?
- The AF is not completely silent which is annoying if you do video of a very quiet scene (the Zeiss Batis is fully silent)
- The lens is as heavy (820gr) as the Sony 24-70 F2.8 GM (886gr)
- The price : 1800 euros !
- No optical stabilisation which is not an issue for A7 2nd Gen that have built in sensor stabilisation. (The Zeiss Batis 85mm is stabilised)
If you can afford it and if your are mainly a portrait / studio / mode shooter, this sony FE 85mm F1.4 GM is definitively a must have
