Benefits of this firmware update:

・It has reduced the operating sound of the lens diaphragm blades when attached with the SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 EF-E and used for video shooting.
・It has improved the AF accuracy when the lens is used for video shooting as well as with Live View mode of EOS DIGITAL SLR cameras.*1

Prima, da bin ich mal gespannt wie das dann in real aussieht. Ich habe das 24-105 Art mit Canon-Anschluss an der A7II, und die AF-Genauigkeit lässt bisher zu wünschen übrig. Eigentlich sollte da schon letzten August/September was kommen.

Danke "still image"! Nun gut: beim MC-11 ist es nur ein Kompatiblitätsupdate für bessere SIGMA-Objektivunterstützung. :cry:

Mal dir Anwenderberichte bei Fredmiranda abwarten...

Tja ich bin froh dass der MC-11 überhaupt mit Canon Objektiven funktioniert. Wird ja von Sigma offiziell nicht supportet.

Klar, Sigma könnte auch neue Elektronikplatinen in Canon Objektive einbauen ...

Neue Platine? Selbst SONY bekommt seine "alten" Ojektive für Hybrid-AF flott. Gesichtserkennung funktioniert schließlich auch einwandfrei & schnell mit Canon-Objektiven. Und mit dem Flexible Spot kann manuell auf's Auge gezielt und scharf gestellt werden...

Das betrifft doch nur die 8 Kontakt Objektive der (D) Serie mit Fokusdecoder oder irre ich mich da? Die alten HS Apo G's geht doch der Hybrid-AF nicht oder? Wenn ja wäre das Geil ... ich mein das 300mm F2.8 und das 400mm F4.5 sind schon Sahne Teile :shock: :crazy:

Also an der A7s ist der Autofokus im Videomodus(!) mit dem 24-105mm definitiv schneller.
O-Ton über die Kamera fällt dabei aufgrund des ständigen, leisen Fokussierratterns weiterhin weg aber für mich eine klare Verbesserung.
Beim Fotografieren habe ich jetzt keinen Unterschied gemerkt.
Allerdings habe ich mit dem Kontrast-AF der A7s auch nichts erwartet.

Selbst das olle SAL50F14 mit Stangen-AF wird unterstützt, aber für das Minolta gilt "AF 85/1.4 G (D) Limited: There is no support for hybrid phase detection AF."

Back to Topic: Funktionen wie "Eye-AF" funktionieren mit ContrastAF schließlich auch mit Canon-Objektiven. Ich vermute hinter solchen Limitierungen weniger technische Gründe...sondern eine (markenspezifische) Whitelist gepaart mit ein paar Tuning-Mappings. Schließlich ist das bisher noch mit ein zugkräftiges Verkaufsargument für SIGMA-Objektive :P

Braucht man aber nur wenn man das neue Sigma 100-400 hat.

Und dann spielt man es auf und denkt, es sei schlechter geworden. War zumindest mein erster subjektiver Eindruck. Muss ich am WE mal testen.
