I've a defective Minolta DiMAGE 7 camera.
Problem is:
Camera doesn't start-up:
After fresh battery install, camera makes some noise when switch on to recording mode. After that no further action and no displays. When switched off and on again, totally no re-action.
I have to re-install batteries again for some action (noise) after switch-on.
Is this problem known?
Any solution?

Hello Harm,
please remove the CF card and try to switch your camera on.
Maybe the CF card is faulty, incompatible or corrupted.

Hi hrijswijk - Harm !
Please have a look to the Barrerie -Contacts and clean them with a Q-tip and a little drop of contact - cleaner ( WD 40 or ... )
Greets from Cologne!

Hello Harm,
welcome here, in addition to the other please do this.
After the "Noise" look at the LCD display on top of the camera, is there a Battery Symbol blinking?
Please try to start the camera in EVF Mode (display switch on EVF), saves a lot of power.
Please use another set of fresh Batterys.
If you have, try to start the camera with the AC power adaptor.
Best regards Klaus

There's nothing to see on the display. I already tried the AC-power adapter: No Luck (same result as with batteries).

What's about the CF-card?
Have You ever tried a different one?
Does the problem still exist with another CF-card?

Another or no CF-card, same result!

Have You ever made any firmware-upgrade?
And did You leave the firmware-date on the cf-card?
I know a problem, caused by using the camera with a CF-card with the firmware-data on it.

Oh, oh....
I think the only possibility for You to get the camera working, is to send it to the minolta-service.
Send it in, and ask for an estimation of costs.
