it's hard to say exactly what might have failed here. If you had the possibility it would probably be best to check the lens on a Canon body - if the problem persists, then it's a faulty lens, if it does not, then it's a faulty adapter.
Der MC-11 macht an einem Sigma-Objektiv keine Probleme. Ich werde dann zunächst den Techart benutzen und versuchen jemanden mit Canon-Body aufzutreiben ;-)
